Caspa - I Hate Caspa (cassette)
Limited to 50 cassettes (pink shells)
Holy egg punk! Caspa is the first San Antonio band that Dirt Cult has released (well ok, aside from my own band) since I moved here in 2021 and for good reason. Fiercely political - and funny to boot! - Caspa won me over when the band played Faulty Cognitions' record release show. They plowed through a whirlwind 12 minute set while singer Tahnee held a gun to her head and sang about having to go to work in the morning and threw the index cards she was reading into the crowd like she was in some twisted version of Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues" music video while she sang about all the things she doesn't want to deal with anymore.
Caspa is a synth punk band that features members of past and present bands such as Amygdala, Ill Informed, Nocturnal Prose, Faulty Cognitions W.I.M.P, Yolquetza and Pallbexar. Started out as a passion project by Josh Cervantes and their Wife Tahnee, the duo added Angelina Guzman on Synth and played their first show April of 2025 with Zorn. Months later, Caspa recruited Yole Centeno to play drums and Thom Petty on guitar. They played their first show as a 5 piece in September 2025. The band then locked in and recorded their 6 song EP titled “I hate Caspa."
And that about catches us up. All that's left to do is listen.
